Job Summary
General Education Teacher - Bilingual for the 2026-2027 school year at Puesta del Sol Elementary School. 190-day contract. Coordinates teaching program with site-based goals and district-wide objectives; implements curricula to meet state standards and grade-level benchmarks; sets up classroom for optimal learning and safety; applies conflict-resolution skills; maintains a professional and confidential environment; develops goals and objectives for self, group, and student achievement; delivers instruction and maintains student records; completes reports and report cards on schedule; communicates with parents/guardians and participates in parent/teacher conferences; attends staff meetings and in-service training; uses technology effectively; complies with NM Regulations and Code of Ethics; performs additional duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor's degree and NM teaching licensure with endorsements or ability to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Current New Mexico Department of Education license appropriate to the teaching assignment with applicable endorsements or ability to obtain proper licensure within 90 days of hire
- Copy of Professional License OR licensure application with money order status (as part of application materials)
- Copy of transcript from each credentialing college or university
- Efficient organizational ability
- Professional written and oral communication skills
- Ability to maintain high level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding students, staff, parents, and school matters
- Competent technology skills
- Coordinates teaching program with site-based goals and district-wide objectives
- Implements approved curricula to achieve student learning at state standards and benchmarks
- Maintains records of student performance and attendance
- Completes required reports and report cards within prescribed time frames
- Maintains appropriate contact with parents/guardians regarding student progress and arranges parent/teacher conferences
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training activities
- Adheres to ethical codes and performance evaluation requirements for teachers in NM
- Performs other job duties as assigned
