Job Summary
General Education Paraprofessional at Pinecrest Elementary to support student learning across classrooms. Provide academic support in literacy and math, help maintain a calm, inclusive classroom environment, and support student self-regulation through proactive strategies. Collaborate with teachers, supervise students during non-instructional times, model social-emotional and self-regulation strategies, and document behavioral and academic interventions to inform progress. Role involves building trusting relationships with students, supporting restorative practices, and reinforcing CARE expectations (Cooperate, Act Responsibly, Respect, Empathy). Pay starts at $22.51 per hour with a 6.25-hour day (7:45am–2:30pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience working with children in school or youth program settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm and supportive in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in learning restorative practices and other relationship-centered behavior supports
- Ability to follow directions, manage small groups, and support students in their learning
