Job Summary
General Duty Radiology Technologist – MRT position at Shared Health (Virden Health Centre) supports radiologists in diagnostic procedures, trains/orients technologists, and provides direct patient care within the Virden Diagnostics unit. Requires CAMRT certification, membership in CAMRT-MB, and IV certification within 3 months. In-person FTE role with shift coverage including days, evenings, weekends, and standby/on-call; physical work with patient transfers and exposure to radiation; CR checks and abuse registry clearances required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Imaging Technology
- Successful completion of the CAMRT certification exam
- Must be a member of CAMRT-MB and CAMRT in good standing
- Ability to start IVs or complete Intravenous Certification Program within 3 months
- Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
- Experience in patient care (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to perform duties (standing/walking, lifting, transferring clients)
- Ability to work extended hours including days, evenings, weekends, standby/on-call
- Safety awareness and ability to work with potentially infectious materials
- Compliance with safety/place protocols
- Ability to work with radiologic procedures under supervision
