Job Summary
Registered Nurse provides professional nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs, with responsibilities including administration of prescribed treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge. Requires graduation from an approved RN program and active CRNM registration. ECG course must be completed within six months and Step Down Unit training within 18 months. CPR and compliance with RHPA, PHIA, and related regulations are required. Strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking, delegation, and communication skills are essential, with preference for applicants proficient in an Indigenous language or knowledge of Indigenous customs and values. This in-person position is based at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, within the GD3 Trauma/Acute unit, with shifts including days, nights, and weekends. A security/background checks are required as conditions of employment; accommodations available upon request.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- ECG course within 6 months of employment
- Step Down Unit training within 18 months of employment
- CPR training in accordance with Employer policy
- Proficiency in Windows/Word processing/spreadsheets/databases
- Knowledge of RHPA, PHIA, WHMIS, and related acts
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and communicate effectively
- MNU affiliation and Indigenous language/knowledge preferred
