Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medicine-High Observation Unit provides professional nursing care for patients with complex needs, including administration of prescribed treatments, leadership within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge. Requires CRNM registration, CPR compliance, and strong knowledge of RHPA, PHIA, PHI-related acts, and hospital policies. Demonstrates critical thinking and effective communication; ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preference given to applicants with Indigenous language or Indigenous-cultural knowledge. This is a full-time in-person term position based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
- Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- CPR training as per employer policy
- Knowledge of RHPA, PHIA, WHMIS, Protecting of Persons in Care Act and related legislation
- Experience preferred in clinical nursing and high-observation/unit settings
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication and prioritization skills
- Proficiency with computers and standard software
- Ability to work in a demanding and potentially stressful environment
- Indigenous language knowledge or Indigenous customs/values preferred
