Job Summary
Assemble prepared food for general, modified, and age-specific patient diets, cafeteria, vending, and special functions. Wash and clean fresh produce, peel, dice, shred, and slice foods per recipes, then arrange, cover, label, and store items attractively. Assist on tray lines by delivering meals to bedside, checking patient identification, and retrieving used trays. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils; mop floors, clean walls, and defrost freezers. Take food and equipment inventories, stock nourishment centers, and process money transactions accurately. Prepare special diet foods following restrictions and attend department meetings and in-services. Complete annual training and maintain licensure.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation
- Sufficient education to insure literacy in order to read and understand written instruction
- Ability to write legibly

- Knowledge of sanitation standards
- Previous acute hospital food service experience
