Job Summary
General Dentist with pediatric focus at Health Bridge in Los Angeles, CA, delivering in-person comprehensive dental care to pediatric patients and adults within the provider’s licensed privileges and clinic protocols. The role emphasizes pediatric preventive, diagnostic, restorative, and urgent care, collaboration with Behavioral Health and medical teams, and adherence to HIPAA, infection control, and quality improvement standards. The contracted dentist operates as an independent contractor, maintaining licensure, BLS, and any required registrations (DEA/CURES) and coordinating with EHR documentation and clinical privileges. Responsibilities include patient examinations, treatment planning, preventive services (prophylaxis, fluoride, sealants, oral hygiene instruction), restorative care (composites, amalgams, SSCs), pulp therapy, space maintainers, and coordination of referrals as needed; adult dental services provided as required within scope; cross-disciplinary communication and accurate charting in the EHR; participation in quality assurance and utilization reviews; and compliance with federal/state/local laws including HIPAA. In addition, the role requires intraprofessional collaboration with medical and behavioral health teams and commitment to serving underserved communities in a Federally Qualified Health Center setting.
Required Qualifications
- DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
- Active, unrestricted California dental license in good standing
- No disciplinary actions or probation on dental license
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- DEA registration if prescribing controlled substances
- CURES registration if prescribing controlled substances
- Demonstrated competence in treating pediatric dental patients
- Ability to provide general dental services to adult patients within license privileges
- Ability to perform urgent and emergency dental care
- Eligibility for FQHC credentialing and privileging per HRSA requirements
- Eligibility for payer enrollment (e.g., Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal) if required
- Not currently excluded or sanctioned from participating in federal health programs (OIG LEIE/SAM)
- Ability to meet occupational health requirements and immunizations
- Ability to work in person at the CA location for all contracted service days
