Job Summary
Define organizational legal and AI strategies while overseeing ethical implementation across corporate, commercial, and intellectual property matters. Lead strategy for mergers, acquisitions, and capital market transactions, partnering with corporate development on due diligence and integration. Negotiate sophisticated commercial agreements and establish centralized governance frameworks for suppliers, customers, and global partnerships. Evaluate macro-level risks to provide proactive guidance on data privacy and regulatory compliance, managing workflows with external stakeholders and regulators. Coordinate corporate governance filings, AGM administration, and shareholding records to maintain structural integrity.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience (post-admission to the bar) in a law firm or as an in-house counsel
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor degree (JD)
- Active member in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan (or equivalent reciprocal jurisdiction)
- Comprehensive expertise in corporate, commercial, and intellectual property law within technology or SaaS contexts
- Demonstrated competency in leading mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital markets transactions from due diligence through post-close integration
- In-depth knowledge of global privacy rules and data protection requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC)
- Proven capability to establish trusted organizational governance frameworks and manage ethical, secure AI strategy implementations (AI Vision/M5–M6 level alignment)
