Job Summary
General Counsel to lead the company's legal strategy across the U.S. and international regulators, manage and scale the legal function, and partner with the founders to drive compliant growth in innovative financial products. Responsibilities include leading regulatory matters (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OFAC domestically and MiCA/FCA/MAS internationally), overseeing M&A, financings, joint ventures, and the full commercial contract stack; owning IP strategy including trademarks and open-source considerations; managing disputes and inquiries; structuring corporate governance across entities; building scalable compliance processes; advising on entity structuring, tokenomics, and securities; and partnering across a small, high-caliber team to enable fast, responsible innovation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in financial services law with a strong concentration in CFTC regulation
- Experience advising crypto/DeFi/fintech companies
- Experience structuring multi-entity setups
- Direct experience advising on CFTC regulatory filings or examinations
- Ability to operate as sole legal lead in early-stage company
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
