Job Summary
General Counsel role in Tampa leading the in-house Legal and Real Estate Departments. Responsibilities include providing ongoing legal guidance on labor and employment matters, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, contract review and negotiation, real estate matters, and strategic risk management. Requires broad corporate-law expertise, experience managing outside counsel, and ability to advise executive leadership on a wide range of issues including healthcare law (Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA), wage and hour, non-compete enforcement, and policy development. Must possess a Juris Doctorate, be licensed to practice in Florida, have at least ten years of experience, and demonstrate management experience overseeing lawyers and paralegals. The role involves interaction with HR and business leaders, handling disputes and regulatory matters, and representing the company in litigation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law or authorized in-house counsel in the State of Florida
- Minimum ten (10) years experience as an attorney (ideally including both in-house and large law firm experience)
- Experience in healthcare industry
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Management experience including overseeing work of other attorneys and paralegals
