Job Summary
General Counsel, Regulatory and Transactions provides legal and regulatory guidance to Compassus and its affiliated entities, focusing on healthcare transactions, licensing, and Certificate of Need. Responsible for regulatory compliance across federal and state health care laws (including Anti-kickback, Stark, HIPAA/HITECH, and Medicare Conditions of Participation), leading Licensing and CON functions, and overseeing mergers, acquisitions, and other transactional activity. Drafts and negotiates contracts and documents to ensure compliance with state and federal health care regulatory requirements, and collaborates with hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians, vendors, managed care companies, and third-party payors. Requires Juris Doctor, substantial healthcare law experience, strong communication and leadership abilities, and the capacity to work a flexible schedule with travel.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- 15 years of legal experience with at least 10 years of healthcare professional experience
- relevant experience in law firm and/or corporate setting; additional public sector experience preferred
