Job Summary
Part-time Equity Cofounder role for General Counsel & Head of Legal at Launch Legends and Autheo, focusing on regulatory strategy, banking charter leadership, governance, IP protection, and risk management for blockchain, DePIN, digital assets, and regulated financial services. Responsibilities include shaping global compliance frameworks, advising on US and international regulations (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OCC, GDPR/CCPA), supporting OCC national trust bank charter applications, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, maintaining corporate governance across a global equity cofounder network, and embedding legal-by-design and compliance-by-design principles across product and operations. Requires a JD with bar membership, 8+ years in relevant legal fields, and deep experience with token launches, digital assets, payments, and financial services law.
Required Qualifications
- JD from a top-tier law school with active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction (additional international qualifications or bar admissions a plus).
- 8+ years of progressive legal experience, with significant focus (4+ years) on cryptocurrency, blockchain, DeFi, Web3 technologies, and/or fintech, payments, digital assets, or financial services law.
- Proven track record advising on token launches, securities law compliance (Howey test, Reg D, Reg A+, etc.), digital asset regulations, payments compliance, and/or supporting bank charter, trust company, or similar regulated financial applications.
- Deep expertise in digital asset taxation, data privacy (GDPR/CCPA), payments systems, digital asset custody, AML/KYC frameworks, and IP law in emerging tech.
