Job Summary
Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, and extract carpets to maintain daily facility cleanliness. Remove trash, sanitize restrooms and locker rooms, polish entryway areas, wash windows, and clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, glass, counters, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures. Perform any additional duties directed by the custodial supervisor. This physically demanding role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, extensive walking, and working in varying temperatures. Available in full or part-time day and evening shifts at Arlington Community Schools.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Fingerprint Background check
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and pull
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Extensive walking and standing for the duration of the shift
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks with production and service time frames as established by the company
- Ability to work with various temperatures extreme from hot to cold
- Previous cleaning experience
- Ability to work with others and take direction
- Excellent work history
