Job Summary
General Cleaner responsibilities include cleaning building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming; emptying trash; cleaning and supplying restrooms; polishing furniture and fixtures; cleaning windows, glass partitions, and mirrors; dusting surfaces; preparing cleaning solutions; steam-cleaning or shampooing carpets; floor finishing; cleaning laboratory equipment; adhering to chemical usage procedures; monitoring safety and security; moving heavy items; reporting needed repairs; removing snow; requisitioning supplies; setting up and tearing down event spaces; and working flexible hours including weekends and holidays. All jobs are temporary in nature and may involve facility transfers. Physical work includes standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other demanding tasks as described.
