Job Summary
General Cleaner role responsible for a broad range of cleaning duties in assigned facilities, including high dusting, sanitizing surfaces, bathroom cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and outdoor/grounds care. Tasks require following specified cleaning procedures (e.g., counter-clockwise cleaning patterns, germicidal solutions), operating janitorial equipment, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, and delivering courteous service to customers. Must adhere to safety guidelines, interpret instructions, and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic janitorial operations
- Knowledge of basic methods, materials and equipment used in janitorial work
- Knowledge of basic safe work practices
- Familiarity with toxic and non-toxic cleaning chemicals (per MSDS)
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment
- Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals
- Physical ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods; lift 1–30 lbs; push/pull 5–35 lbs; climb stairs and ladders; reach overhead
