General Cashier & AP Specialist

Responsible for receiving and disbursing cash and for ensuring that strict controls are maintained. Handles accounts payable responsibilities including receiving, sorting and updating AP invoices, credit notes, and payments; arranging batch postings after verification and authorization by the Director of Finance; and coding to the correct G/L accounts. Files invoices neatly and promptly, and coordinates with Purchasing to route invoices for authorization, ensuring timely month-end payments. Daily duties include collecting and counting cashier envelopes, preparing the daily cashier report, handling damaged or lost guest property, supplying change, controlling cash floats, processing expense claims, following up on travel advances, and depositing all collections (cash, checks, travellers checks, and foreign currency) with receipts from the bank. Reconciles related accounts, ensures invoices are checked for accuracy and properly approved, batches data for processing, and maintains postings as "POSTED". Ensures accurate allocation of A/P to G/L, prioritizes early payment discounts, identifies pre-payments for separate recording, and prepares the payment list for the Director of Finance’s approval. Performs month-end accruals for A/P and communicates with the Director of Finance. Reconciles monthly vendor statements to A/P ledgers and performs other duties assigned by Finance leadership. Requires strong English and computer skills and embodies reliability and professionalism suitable for a hospitality finance role in Istanbul.
