Job Summary
Conduct inpatient cardiology rounding at St. Luke's South and manage heart failure clinics at both St. Luke's South and St. Luke's Hospital (Plaza). Perform medical management of adult cardiology patients, including admissions, consultations, visits, and discharges. Order and manage laboratory and diagnostic studies while utilizing prescriptive authority in accordance with state and federal laws. Complete a Master's degree and maintain national certification and licensure as required by State Boards and BJC-Saint Luke's Health System. Work Monday through Friday in four 10-hour shifts with weekend and holiday commitment.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree (or higher level of educational program)
- Requirements for the respective State Board(s) (Missouri and Kansas)
- National certification and licensure as required by State Boards and BJC-Saint Luke's Health System
- Other certification as obligatory for this role
- 1 year Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Advanced Practice Provider (KS)
- Advanced Practice Provider (MO)
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Full time role
- Monday through Friday schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM to 5:30 PM) each week
- One variable day off
- Weekend and holiday commitment
- Medical management of the Cardiology patient population within the scope of an Advanced Practice Provider
- Utilizes prescriptive authority in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations
- Obtains and documents relevant problem focused or comprehensive history from patient/medical records in a timely manner
- Communicates effectively using appropriate terminology, format, and technology in accordance with health system policies
- Analyzes data to determine health status
- Communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals
- Performs an accurate physical exam
- Demonstrates basic science and up to date clinical knowledge
- Establishes a patient relationship characterized by mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration
- Takes initiative for seeking opportunities to advance knowledge and experiences
- Flexibility with scheduled rotations / locations as needed to ensure patient needs are met
- Completion of admissions, consultations, subsequent day visits and discharges in the inpatient setting
- Independent practice in the outpatient clinic and/or inpatient setting and collaborating with physician(s) as appropriate
- Ordering and management of appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Training and competency for procedures applicable to the department of hire
