Job Summary
Assist with classroom management and instruction for special education students under supervision of the classroom teacher and other special education professionals. Carry out educational programs developed by the special education teacher; tutor individuals and small groups; implement behavior management programs; observe, record and chart academic and behavioral progress; escort and supervise students in various settings; assist with field trips and activities; perform clerical duties and prepare classroom materials; assist with feeding and lifting needs; participate in specialized signing programs (e.g., PECs) when required. May work with general education students and support substitute teaching needs. Requires good communication skills and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
