Job Summary
Atlanta News First (WANF) seeks an aggressive, experienced general assignment reporter who thrives on breaking news and enterprise stories. Responsibilities include covering live breaking news, generating exclusive content for various platforms, seeking diverse perspectives, engaging in the newsroom editorial process, developing a strong community network, and participating in community events. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably 7, with a strong presence on air, outstanding writing abilities, and effective organizational skills. A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an on-air reporter or MMJ
- 7 years preferred
- Must provide a link to recent examples of reporting, including live breaking news, packages, and digital content
Desired Qualifications
- Medium/large market experience preferred
- Outstanding writing skills
- Energetic, compelling live presence
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Scheduling flexibility required
