Job Summary
Plan, manage, and oversee airport and assigned capital projects from initial scoping through design, procurement, construction, and closeout. Lead multidisciplinary teams to coordinate field inspections, monitor contractor performance, and administer construction contracts including change orders and claims. Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk-management plans while ensuring compliance with FAA, UDOT, and City requirements. Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for the Airport Director and administration; participate in public outreach and grant administration. Forecast budget needs, approve expenditures, and implement program improvements. Full-time, non-exempt; eligible for benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience
- Three years of project management responsibility
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field
- Other combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required capabilities
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Utah driver's license within 180 days of hire
- Completion of NIMS IS100, IS200, ICS300, ICS400, IS700, IS800, IS801 and IS803 within one year of hire
- Willingness to consent to a background check, which includes a criminal record check, verification of employment, and verification of education transcripts
- Willingness to undergo urine drug screening for post-employment offers and at random times for DOT and safety-sensitive positions
Desired Qualifications
- Possession of an appropriate valid Utah Professional Engineer's license (P.E.) at the time of hire
- Ability to obtain a P.E. within one year of hire
- Recognition as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) in the State of Utah if a P.E. has not been obtained
