Job Summary
Conduct pediatric and young adult dental anesthesia care, including IV setup, airway management during transport, and emergency response. Prepare treatment rooms, obtain anesthetic equipment and drugs, and manage medication and supplies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, family-centred care for infants, children, and adolescents with disabilities. Maintain knowledge through in-house and post-secondary education while supporting client safety and rights.
Required Qualifications
- Currently registered as an RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Successful completion, PACU certificate or training program designed to produce competency in the specific modality of sedation and general anesthesia utilized obtained or willingness to do so
- Current certificate of competence by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BCLS, ACLS and PALS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire and recertified within 1 year (BCLS) and every 2 years (ACLS/PALS)
- Current BCLS certificate—Basic Rescuer
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of recent surgical, PACU, or emergency room nursing preferred
- Specialty knowledge in pre/post care management of dental oral surgeries
- Previous Paediatrics nursing experience, including experience working with clients with neurodevelopmental conditions an asset
- Membership in RNAO preferred
- CNA Certification in PeriAnesthisia is an asset
- Certification in Pediatric Nursing from Canadian Nurses Association is preferred
