Job Summary
General Accountant at LifeMed Alaska, based in Anchorage HQ, is responsible for a range of accounting and administrative tasks including preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing data, cash handling, and mail duties. The role emphasizes in-office presence and supports GAAP-compliant financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, PO/inventory reconciliations, budgets and forecasts, external audits, and process improvements. Primary duties include payments processing, cash deposits, vendor coordination, and ensuring internal controls, with a focus on delivering accurate financial insights and maintaining a culture of accountability and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years in accounting role
- Experience with Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables
- Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manuals and procedures
- CPA preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 3 years accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with pivot tables
- Experience in accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R)
- CPA preferred
