Job Summary
Genealogist researcher specializing in United States lineage societies. Conduct expert U.S.-focused genealogical research (18th–20th centuries), with emphasis on record collection for lineage societies, brick-wall methodologies, and evidence analysis. Produce well-written research logs, reports, and regular client updates; manage project budgets and timelines; maintain an average of six billable hours per day; collaborate with Research Managers to set client expectations and address questions. Proficiency in applying DNA test results to genealogical research problems and delivering client-centered results in alignment with company standards. Inclusive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple active projects while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional genealogical research experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in History, Family History, English, or comparable experience
- Specialized expertise in U.S. genealogical research with a focus on lineage societies strongly preferred
- Proficient in applying DNA test results to genealogical research problems
- Advanced knowledge of brick wall research methodologies and evidence analysis
- Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experienced in creating research logs/journals, citations, abstracts including analysis, writing narrative reports, drafting research plans, and conducting research within budget
- Experienced in client communication, expectation setting, and conflict resolution
- Comfortable working collaboratively and providing feedback and coaching to team members
