Job Summary
GED Tutor provides academic instruction to online adult learners preparing for the GED examination, supporting both in-person and online learners. Responsibilities include assessing student skill levels, developing personalized learning plans, delivering engaging lesson plans aligned with GED standards, and providing feedback on student progress. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a passion for helping students succeed. A high school diploma is required, and prior instructional experience, particularly with adults, is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
- Online instruction experience required
- Strong knowledge of GED subject areas (expertise in at least one required)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others succeed
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Prior tutoring, teaching, or instructional experience (especially with adult learners)
- Knowledge of Aztec learning platform
- Familiarity with online learning tools
