Job Summary
Coordinate site-based college and career exploration events for the GEAR UP cohort in collaboration with school counselors. Provide students with assistance in academic achievement, school success, and life skills to support college readiness. Work with building staff to implement college-going strategies and lead events such as College Application Week. Manage grant compliance by preparing documentation, monitoring the budget, and submitting claims and match. Facilitate family engagement and assist district staff in gathering financial documentation. Complete monthly reporting and attend required meetings while representing the school professionally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of two years of experience working with youth
- Proven experience with detail oriented tasks
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to work nights, weekends, and travel overnight
- Able to submit paperwork and updates in a timely manner
- Excellent organizational skills
- Capable of representing the school and district in a professional manner, which includes but is not limited to confidentiality, communication skills and other areas of professionalism
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them
- Great attention to detail
- Able to multitask and manage multiple project deadlines
- Able to facilitate and train groups of youth
- Willing and able to listen to and engage youth in goal setting
- Must be able to provide and accept supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with college planning and access, including financial aid and/or admissions
- Experience with grant implementation
- Experience with accounting documentation
- Experience with teaching or group facilitation
