Gear Manufacturing Engineer/Programmer

Job Summary
Provide technical support for gear manufacturing and inspection while ensuring compliance with quality standards. Design hobs, cutters, and grinding wheels using UTS Gear Engineering software to calculate sizes, create DXF files, and develop setup sheets in SolidWorks. Create and maintain NC programs for gear hobbers, shapers, grinders, and inspection machines, establishing cutting parameters and managing tool catalogs. Identify process improvements to enhance cost, productivity, and safety, and write manufacturing procedures for hourly employee training. Participate in pre-production design reviews, perform reverse engineering for rework, and support machine tool rebuilds and vendor acceptance testing. This onsite role in Milwaukee, WI, requires five years of gear manufacturing experience and proficiency in CAD and UTS software.
Required Qualifications
- Five years of gear manufacturing experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Proficiency in UTS Software
- Proficiency in CAD design software
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical college
- Journeyman status
- 10 years of experience in the machine trades
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams
- Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills
