Job Summary
The Gateway Engineering and Support Engineer plays a crucial role in providing advanced technical leadership and operational support for Globalstar’s Gateway and Payload systems. This position is responsible for monitoring system performance, assisting in troubleshooting incidents, supporting installation and testing of new Payload systems, maintaining technical documentation, leading performance tracking, and conducting root cause analysis. Candidates should have strong analytical skills, familiarity with RF Test equipment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and ability to learn satellite systems are essential for success in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Foundational understanding of RF principles and satellite communications concepts
- Ability to interpret technical data and documentation
- Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise in satellite systems
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in RF, satellite communications, aerospace, or telecommunications
- Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel, or similar)
- Knowledge of Software Defined Radios (SDRs) or FPGA concepts
Additional Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (valid passport required)
- Participation in a shared on-call schedule after initial training period
- Willingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as needed
