Job Summary
Greet residents, visitors, and team members as the first point of contact while verifying vehicle tags and ensuring proper authorization for campus entry. Monitor entrance and exit points to provide watchful oversight, offering directions, campus maps, and assistance to emergency response teams and guests. Screen all individuals thoroughly to maintain security, reporting irregularities, safety hazards, or concerns to leadership immediately. Assist with vehicle accident policies and support the Transportation department as needed. Maintain a warm, professional attitude to foster a friendly atmosphere while upholding Sunnyside's standards for a smooth campus experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Current Virginia driver's license and meets driver eligibility requirements per Sunnyside policy HR069
- Ability to use basic office equipment including multi-line phone
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain its' integrity
- Weekend / Holiday rotation availability required
- Shift Start Time: 7 am or 1 pm
- Shift End Time:1pm or 7 pm
Desired Qualifications
- Law enforcement, military, security or public service experience is a plus
- Have a friendly, well informed and courteous attitude
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Good active listening skills and ability to process information accurately, make appropriate decisions, and take appropriate action based on the information available
- Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Strong customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach to engaging with all individuals
