Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to patients within the GI/IBD clinic, assist physicians in treatment, and complete related clinical paperwork. Adhere to Mercy Philosophy of caring, respect for human life and dignity, and communicate with patients, families, visitors and staff in a caring, professional manner. Perform duties supporting examination, diagnostic, and treatment procedures, and operate clinic equipment as needed. All duties comply with applicable regulations and Mercy policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current valid state license
- CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public
- Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills
