Job Summary
Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant needed to provide comprehensive GI care in long-term care facilities. Responsibilities include assessing and treating residents with GI diseases, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing diagnoses and treatment plans, prescribing medications, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Emphasis on person-centered care for elderly residents; duties include counseling residents and families, coordinating care, and maintaining thorough assessments and documentation. Requires active NP/PA license, DEA, CPR/BLS, Master's in Nursing, accredited NP program, and at least 1 year in gastroenterology plus 6 months in long-term care. Physical demands include lifting up to 20 pounds and standing/walking up to 6-8 hours daily.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
- DEA License
- CPR BCLS/BLS certified
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- A year of experience in Gastroenterology
- Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand / walk / work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
