Job Summary
Provide clinical gastroenterology services and collaborate with Clinical Unit Heads to implement strategic vision and meet service delivery requirements. Lead senior medical leadership within the cardiology service, manage medical staff rostering and leave, and oversee quality improvement activities including audits. Demonstrate high-level negotiation skills while managing service budgets and adapting to environments of change. Maintain full immunisation records and provide evidence of professional development during onboarding. This role offers flexible working arrangements, salary packaging, and relocation support in a 724-bed regional hospital near Melbourne.
Required Qualifications
- Fellowship with the RACP or equivalent degree enabling full unconditional registration with AHPRA
- Evidence of on-going professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills
- Thorough understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers
- Experience in senior medical leadership within a cardiology service
- Ability to operate in an environment of change
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective service interactions required in the operation of a busy Cardiology service
- Demonstrable high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated leadership of and participation in quality improvement activities (including audits)
- Demonstrated ability to manage a budget and understand key budgetary issues related to service delivery
- Demonstrated experience in management of medical staff rostering and leave
