Gastroenterologist - Associate

Job Summary
Diagnose and treat gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic disorders while performing endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs in outpatient and inpatient settings. Develop comprehensive care plans, interpret diagnostic tests including biopsies and imaging, and educate patients on digestive health and preventive measures. Collaborate with specialists and primary care physicians to ensure continuity of care, maintain accurate patient records, and stay current with medical advancements. Participate in a two-weekend-per-month internal call schedule to cover hospital patients and respond to ER calls. This role supports Florida Digestive Health Specialists, the state's largest single-specialty physician-owned practice, delivering compassionate care across 30 locations.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
- Valid state medical license and DEA certification
- Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology
- Proficiency in performing and interpreting endoscopic procedures
- Strong diagnostic skills with a deep understanding of gastrointestinal anatomy and pathology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care with compassion and empathy
- Knowledge of EMR systems and ability to document patient records accurately
- Some travel may be required for outreach clinics or multiple practice locations
- May involve evening or weekend hours as part of call rotation
