Job Summary
Install, level, and prepare Solar or OEM gas turbines, compressors, and control consoles in test beds. Connect harnesses, simulators, and instrumentation to perform static and dynamic tests, then conduct final performance acceptance runs. Operate computerized data acquisition systems to record and review parameters like horsepower, fuel flow, and vibration data. Troubleshoot malfunctions, trim balance components using real-time analyzers, and make operational adjustments to bring units within specified operating parameters. Remove units from the test facility upon completion.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of mechanical or electrical-related job experience
- Strong technical, electrical, and mechanical skills
- Good understanding of turbine theory
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Experience with diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of control circuits
- Removing and replacing faulty components
- Experience reading/interpreting applicable drawings (Mechanical and/or Electrical) and technical manuals
Desired Qualifications
- Gas turbine package or related, operational, or testing experience
- PLC controls experience
- Airframes and Powerplants (A&P) license
- Experience operating or testing Solar packages or engines
- LOU #27 as a QTT
