Job Summary
Provide technical engineering expertise on field operations projects, including material and equipment specifications for piping, valves, and meters. Perform hydraulic pipeline modeling analysis for transmission and distribution systems to evaluate new capacity requests and design day requirements. Direct oversight of pipeline system design day models while calculating and maintaining station capacities against customer demand. Assist with local agency permitting, validate construction records, and support updates to engineering drawings and material specifications. Perform RSTRENG calculations and assist during emergency situations, section shut-down procedures, and annual regulatory compliance efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required in engineering or engineering technology
- 3+ years industry experience and/or training as evaluated by management
- Valid Driver's License
- Proficient knowledge of natural gas pipeline operations and compliance requirements
- Ability to communicate technical requirements or concepts effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to understand and apply technical specifications, federal/state/local regulatory codes, and accepted industry construction or operations practices
- Familiarity with concepts and terminology related to the construction and maintenance of natural gas transmission facilities
- Proficient with computer software including Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Project, Synergi Gas Modeling Software, GasCalc, RSTRENG, and AutoCad
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering plans and specifications, technical procedures and manuals, and government regulations
- Develop thorough knowledge of ESNG pipeline system operations
- CFR 49 Part 192 and other industry regulations
- Understand DOT, railroad, and other permitting requirements
