Job Summary
Gas Plant Production Technician in Phoenix, AZ will join a team to safely operate, maintain and troubleshoot gas production and purification systems (including steam methane reformer, CO2 purification, high-purity helium, and related support systems) that deliver high-purity gases to a semiconductor manufacturing site. Responsibilities include monitoring plant systems, responding to alarms, providing 24/7 on-call support, assisting in repair and startup of equipment, preparing and purging systems for maintenance, participating in Safe Work Permit processes, calibrating and maintaining delivery equipment, keeping maintenance records, drafting operating procedures, and complying with HS&E standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers. Strong emphasis on instrumentation knowledge, rotating equipment, valves, pumps, compressors, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work in a team, and communicate effectively with management and external customers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical Associates degree preferred
- 6+ years of technical training or operations experience
- Ability to work extended hours/shift work
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet shift/on-call requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment and piping systems
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations)
- Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment
- Ability to use computers - knowledge of Google and Microsoft software
- Ability to work in a team environment; formal communication skills
- Qualified in operation of forklift, man lift and overhead crane is preferred
- Physical ability to wear PPE and lift 50 lbs
- Comfort with climbing ladders and working in non-conditioned environments
- Willingness to travel to support other plants during turnarounds/maintenance
