Job Summary
Gas Metering Specialist at Unitil provides engineering and technical support for gas metering, instrumented metering construction requirements, metering procedures, metering testing and regulatory reporting; leads project management for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automated Meter Reading (AMR) systems; develops metering specifications and ensures vendor compliance; ensures metering projects are completed within budget and on schedule; analyzes meter test results and prepares monthly metering metrics; collaborates with Meter & Service, Operations, Engineering, Customer Service, Billing, IT, AMI Systems and other stakeholders to optimize metering processes and support two newly acquired gas company divisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer or Gas Engineering or equivalent years of experience
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in gas metering technology or directly related positions (6 years of experience with an associate’s degree)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong technical and analytical ability
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license based on the requirements of the state where the employee resides
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical field (Electrical, Electronic, Computer or Gas Engineering or equivalent years of experience
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in gas metering technology or directly related positions or 15 years of technical experience with an associates degree)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, strong technical and analytical ability
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license based on the requirements of the state where the employee resides
