Job Summary
Gas Service Technician D performs installing, setting, removing, transferring, turning on/off meters; diagnosing problems; meter relighting; maintenance and inspection, in accordance with safety standards and applicable codes/regulations. Completes required on-the-job training and examinations; capable of outdoor work and operating with gas meters/tools; requires clean driving record, valid license, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass EEI CAST Test
- Pre-employment/pre-placement drug test (DOT)
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- 2 years of related mechanical experience; gas utility experience preferred
- Vocational, mechanical, or plumbing training highly preferred
- Ability to work independently and outdoors in varying weather
- Must be physically capable of walking long distances while carrying gas meters/tools
- Strong safety compliance and ability to follow codes and regulations
