Job Summary
Gas Mechanic responsible for installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of natural gas mains and service lines, meters, and related gas infrastructure. Responsibilities include trenching, directional drilling, pipe joining, backfilling, performing gas meter and service upgrades, regulator setups, locating underground utilities, leak detection, pressure testing, purging, system re-pressurization, preventive maintenance on pipelines, valves, meters and regulators, responding to emergencies, and maintaining accurate records. Must operate excavation/drilling equipment and comply with safety protocols; capable of working outdoors in variable weather and performing physically demanding tasks; willing to participate in on-call rotations. Qualifications include at least 2 years of gas distribution experience, NGA or equivalent certifications, ability to read blueprints/maps, strong safety awareness, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with natural gas distribution systems or pipelines
- NGA or relevant gas industry qualifications/certifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, maps, and utility drawings
