Job Summary
Entry-level Utility Locator role focused on locating underground utilities, troubleshooting, and marking the ground with paints/flags to prevent damage. Training is provided on the job with 100% paid training. Responsibilities include using locate equipment and maps/blueprints to determine locating sequence, operating a laptop to receive/process tickets, and communicating effectively with peers and homeowners. Must enjoy outdoor work in all weather, stay safe, work independently, and solve problems quickly and accurately. Required Qualifications
- Eighteen years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week
- Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 25 lbs or lifting in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening
- Schedule flexibility including some evenings, weekends, and an occasional holiday
- Responsive to emergency calls during on-call shift rotation
