Job Summary
Gas Inspector – Large Businesses responsible for managing a risk-based inspection regime for Large Businesses within the GSMR framework. You will oversee Gas Safety Assessments and coordinate planned field inspections with field staff, ensuring compliance with recognised gas safety standards. You will act as the day-to-day manager and single point of contact for large businesses and GSMR on technical/operational matters, support enforcement bodies (e.g., HSE and local authorities), and assist in escalating and applying proportionate sanctions where required. The role requires ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1) and a full UK driving license, with a base in Essex (Colchester or Chelmsford area). Required Qualifications
- Essential: Subject matter expert (SME) with extensive gas industry experience and ACS certificates: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1
- Ideally additional ACS certificates in LPG, Non-Domestic & Catering, LAU1 and DAH1
- In-depth knowledge of Enforcement Bodies affected by the Registration Scheme
- Full, clean drivers license
- Ability to liaise with businesses and corporate contacts, build and develop relationships
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with KPI/PI management and contract administration
