Job Summary
Perform operation, planned, and unplanned maintenance on substation equipment, combustion turbines, steam turbines, and water treatment facilities. Execute Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures on high-voltage equipment, pumps, valves, and chillers while reading technical OEM manuals and drawings. Conduct troubleshooting, calibration, and routine repairs across plant systems, including balance-of-plant functions and chemical treatment processes. Maintain inventory levels, generate spare parts lists, and manage environmental, health, and safety records. Monitor equipment through normal operations and emergency events, adhering to strict safety guidelines and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work within a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrates basic computer skills utilizing windows applications, emails and work management software
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently without the need of close supervision
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully complete EEI's Plant Operator Selection System (POSS), and Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS)
- Ability to successfully complete a Power Plant Physical Abilities Assessment
- Ability to successfully complete levels of Employee Development and Qualification Program training
- Ability to work around equipment that generates electromagnetic fields (EMF)
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree
- 2 years of related experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control logic
- Proficiency with computers, software applications and plant work management software and tools such as Microsoft packages that include word, excel, power point
- Experience with maintenance management systems such as Maximo, Passport or equivalent
- Additional years of experience with combustion turbine technology
- High voltage and substation maintenance and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with mechanical and electronic field-testing equipment
- Experience with digital control systems, programmable logic controllers, and multi-fueled technologies
- Knowledge of heavy lifting cranes and rigging requirements
