Job Summary
Gas Fitter (Apprentice or Journeyperson) - Provide installation, maintenance, and service of gas lines and gas-using equipment for construction sites and clients. Responsibilities include measuring and marking reference points for gas line installation, testing and replacing defective components, checking for gas leaks, attending to gas escape calls, preparing reports on work performed and equipment condition, advising clients on safety and maintenance of gas units, and inspecting vehicles. Qualifications include holding a ticketed Gasfitter (A or B) or being enrolled in a Gasfitter apprenticeship, valid Class G driver’s license with a clean abstract, and abilities to troubleshoot and service heating equipment; assets include experience with temporary construction heaters and knowledge of safety regulations for LP/NG installations. This role is based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with in-person work requirements and opportunities for ongoing training and development.
Required Qualifications
- Ticketed Gasfitter (A or B) or enrolled in a Gasfitter apprenticeship program
- Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points)
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair a variety of heating equipment in the shop or field
- Experience with temporary construction heaters (direct and indirect fired, hydronic, electrical etc.) would be an asset
- Knowledge of designing and installing temporary heating systems at construction sites using natural gas, propane and diesel equipment would be an asset
- Knowledge of the safety regulations, codes and practices regarding LP/NG use, equipment servicing, permitting and installation at construction sites would be an asset
- Ability to read/understand building and mechanical plans, job specifications and other technical documents would be an asset
