Gas Compression Field Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose and execute running repairs, oversee large-scale overhauls and rebuilds, and perform component replacements on Caterpillar gas and diesel engines in both the shop and field. Partner directly with customers to troubleshoot operational challenges, complete required paperwork, and maintain clear communication to ensure peak performance. This role requires a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic with at least two years of gas engine and compressor experience, a valid class 5 license, and the ability to travel across Alberta and Northern BC. Candidates must be willing to obtain customer site access and wear a respirator where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Millwright and Automotive also accepted)
- Valid class 5 driver's license with a successful drivers abstract
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of CAT engine and powertrain components
- 2 years experience on gas engines and compressors
- 2 years experience operating a service truck
- Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses
- Must be able and willing to travel to and from customer sites across our territory
- A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing)
- Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills
