Job Summary
Lead a team upholding our "helpfulness" mission by ordering live goods and accessories, managing inventory and visual merchandising, and overseeing gardens maintenance including watering, weeding, and housekeeping. Stay informed of weather conditions to create and implement proactive watering and plant protection plans ahead of adverse weather. Assist with marketing and social media campaign content while demonstrating plant and product knowledge to guide customers on landscaping and gardening purchases. Requires 1+ years of retail management experience in a commercial nursery, computer proficiency with inventory control and POS systems, and availability for 45 weekly hours including Saturdays and peak seasons. Physical demands include standing or walking outside in varying temperatures, lifting up to 40lbs, and climbing ladders.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of retail management experience in a commercial nursery or store nursery/gardens department
- Computer proficiency with inventory control, point-of-sale software, and Microsoft Office
- Available to work 45 hours each week including Saturdays and more during peak seasons
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a high attention to detail
- Use sound and proactive judgment
- Physical requirements: standing or walking throughout the shift outside in warm and cold temperatures
