Gardening Coordinator

Garden Coordinator at Alice Fong Yu Alternative School will teach 2-3 30- to 45-minute daytime classes per day, totaling about 7 hours per day, with potential for additional hours in before/after school programs. The role involves developing a garden curriculum aligned with SFUSD science and social studies standards for K–5, partnering with school administrators and teachers, working with community volunteers on garden maintenance, and creating a safe outdoor learning environment. Responsibilities include teaching garden classes biweekly, engaging students outdoors, fostering curiosity and individual growth, maintaining the garden with volunteers, and performing other duties as assigned. Required experience includes two years teaching youth in outdoor settings and two years gardening/farming; candidates must obtain TB/medical clearance and pass fingerprint/DOJ clearance. CPR and First Aid are preferred, and vaccination against COVID-19 is required with certain exemptions. The position is a partnership between Wah Mei School and Alice Fong Yu Parent Association, located in San Francisco, CA.
