Job Summary
Maintain a large site of mature gardens, wildflower meadow areas, and a Bowling Green within the Richmond Village retirement community. Perform daily tasks including plant care, lawn maintenance, pruning, and seasonal gardening while safely using equipment and chemicals under COSSH regulations. Complete fence repairs, painting, and general outdoor upkeep to ensure attractive, safe, and welcoming spaces for residents. Work independently or as part of the maintenance team during 8-4pm shifts. Previous grounds maintenance experience and a good knowledge of horticultural tasks are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Previous gardening, grounds maintenance, horticultural or landscaping experience
- A good knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, pruning, and seasonal gardening tasks
- Experience using gardening and grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively
- Previous experience of general gardening or grounds maintenance
- Comfortable with the safe use of chemicals under COSSH regulations
- Ability to complete a DBS check
Desired Qualifications
- NVQ in Horticulture
- Basic maintenance skills, including fence repairs, painting, and general outdoor upkeep
