Job Summary
Conduct landscape maintenance including weeding, mulching, edging, raking, and watering planted areas. Plant trees, shrubs, and flowers in designated areas while suggesting landscape plans. Prune trees and shrubs as needed and maintain walk cleanliness by sweeping. Assist with volunteer coordination. Requires knowledge of native and ornamental plant materials, historic landscapes, and ability to perform heavy manual labor in various weather conditions. Must be available for additional hours during peak times and purchase a standard uniform.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of native and ornamental plant materials and gardening
- Knowledge of historic landscapes (18th century – early 19th century)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the public and staff members
- Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor in a variety of weather conditions
- Availability to work additional hours during peak operating times
- Required to purchase and wear standard uniform
