Job Summary
Manage and operate flower tents at nurseries by engaging customers with expert advice on bedding flowers, herbs, vegetables, and houseplants. Design custom potting displays, assist with vehicle loading, and check out transactions efficiently using the POS system. Maintain organized inventory levels, monitor restocking needs, and ensure proper plant care through watering, fertilizing, and pruning. Keep the tent clean, safe, and welcoming while educating shoppers on nutrients, fertilizers, and pest control solutions. Work outdoors in various conditions, lifting up to 50 lbs, with a minimum of two years in a nursery setting required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a nursery, garden center, or similar retail setting
- Strong knowledge of bedding flowers, herbs, vegetables, and houseplants
- Experience with a POS system and handling customer transactions
- Familiarity with plant nutrients, fertilizers, and soil amendments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions
- Strong sales, communication, and customer service skills
- Passion for plants and gardening with a positive, can-do attitude
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Subject to MVR and criminal background check
