Job Summary
Garden Caretaker responsibilities include assisting in installing and maintaining school gardens (vegetable, herb, fruit trees, pollinator garden, high tunnel, aquaponics), weeding, sowing seeds, transplanting, bed shaping, irrigation maintenance, harvesting, and packing bulk produce for cafeteria; assist with general landscaping (soil, raised beds, mulching), help with garden lessons during summer camp/TAP, participate in foraging field trips, water and maintain greenhouse, composting, site cleanliness, tool/equipment maintenance, and support education/community activities while working under the Education and Agriculture Coordinator; position is part-time for Bayfield School District students, with potential collaboration with AmeriCorps and volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- Current School District of Bayfield student
- Ages 14+
- Part-time up to 20 hours/week
- Pay: $14.00/hour
- Mid-May through November 2026
- Experience not required but interest in gardens and education is a plus
