Garage Mechanic - 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul trucks and diesel engines, including fuel injection systems and internal combustion components. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, and wheel bearings to ensure proper operating conditions. Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and use handheld computers, motor analyzers, and pressure gauges to verify system operation. Rebuild gas or diesel engines, recondition pistons and valves, and rewire ignition systems and instrument panels. Install and repair industrial refrigeration systems by reading blueprints, brazing parts, and charging systems with proper refrigerant. Estimate, order, and install materials while maintaining records of repairs and malfunctions. Immediately communicate problems with the Supervisor by phone and follow all safety standards and traffic laws. Work in the 3rd shift at Ben E. Keith Company, a leader in food and beverage distribution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years related mechanic experience/and or training
- Minimum two years Thermo King or Carrier refrigeration experience/and or training
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
